My name is Lauren Martiere Fletcher, I am originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, but I've lived in a number of cities and states across the East Coast since graduating High School. I obtained my Masters of Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2017, and a Master of Arts in History from Clemson University in 2016. Before that, I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where I majored in History and minored in Political Science. Currently, I am the Medical Education & Clinical Engagement Librarian at Brown University. I work directly with the students, faculty, and staff of the Warren Alpert Medical School & clinical providers at affiliated Rhode Island hospitals. My current research focuses on hiring and onboarding practices during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. I have other research interests in the research & instruction training/skills for new librarians, digital pedagogy/active learning, and evidence synthesis.

I am an avid sports fan and in my free time, you can find me watching college football and professional hockey. I love to read, especially fantasy and classics. You can frequently find me with a coffee cup supporting one of my favorite books, movies, or TV shows.
